In loving memory of Richard Levitt who sadly passed away on 27th March 2023. He is survived by his dear wife of 69 years, Joan, his 3 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and partners and 14 great grandchildren. Richard was born in Hull, joined the Army boys service aged 14 and rose to the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers. He then worked as a manager for Boots, Reliance security and finally the NHS up until his retirement aged 65. Richard and Joan had an active life in retirement, visiting their family around the country and in USA and enjoying many overseas holidays. Richard was incredibly proud of his extended family, and loved their large gatherings. He will be remembered by everyone for his amazing stories of life in the army, recalled in incredible detail, his love of musicals and old movies and his infectious sense of humour

Richard’s funeral will take place at Medway Crematorium, Bluebell Hill, Chatham ME5 9QU at 3pm 24th April, then after at Ship & Trades, Chatham Maritime ME4 3ER.

Sadly old Sapper Richard has crossed the bar to where all Sappers go.
He will be missed by so many of us old Vets and family, but he is still smiling with us I am sure.
