In loving memory of David Cassidy who sadly passed away on 22nd March 2023.
David was known to many as Dave. He was born on 27th November 1942, in Upper Poppleton, York. After leaving school, Dave joined Rowntree's. It was there that he met the love of his life, Stella, on a blind date; they married in 1965. Dave worked for Rowntree's for many years and had a variety of jobs. He worked in the warehouses, the weighbridge and finally in factory training as a forklift truck instructor.
Dave decided to retire from Nestle (formally Rowntree's) after 40 plus years to spend more time with his family. His retirement also gave him the opportunity to spend more time on his hobbies of gardening and pottering in his garage. It was nothing for Dave to emerge covered from head to foot in sawdust as he made various pieces of furniture for his precious Granddaughters.
In 2015, he lost the love of his life, Stella, suddenly and moved into a care home in 2017 due to the deterioration in his Alzheimer's disease. In the years between Stella's death and Dave needing more care, Dementia Forward were a source of great support to him. He attended their weekly singing sessions.
