In loving memory of George Knott who sadly passed away on 20th February 2023. George was born in Shoeburyness and spent nearly all his life at 54 Herbert Road.
George was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin to all his family.
Very kind and generous in nature he was always a joy to share time with. A keen photographer, we have all spent time posing for one more picture when we paid a visit. His photographs and films of all the family have been very much appreciated by all.
He had many passions, birdwatching, swimming, conservation, football, music to name a few.
He was a keen gardener and spent many hours gardening for neighbours and helped a local school create a wildlife area in their grounds. Neighbours would see him up a ladder trimming tall trees in the garden into his nineties.
He will be sadly missed by all and our fond memories of time spent with him will be cherished always.

I will miss George dearly. He was the most kind and generous brother I could have wished for. We had so many happy memories together. From special times in our childhood spent with family in Wales through the many holidays I had in Shoebury and George's visits to Lincolnshire.
George was honest, kind and a true gentleman. He was always happy to lend a hand, whether it was for elderly neighbours to maintain their gardens, conservation projects, making David's, Carol's, Stephen's, Colin's and Andrew's stays in Shoebury extra special, he always had time to give.
He captured all the memories of his life in his passion for film and photography. He has left everyone who knew him with invaluable memories captured in time.
God bless you George, until we meet again.
Love Sylvia xxx

When the emotions are involved, words seem inadequate to give expression to thought and feelings which lie deep and close to the heart. George I have known for over 60 years and found him to be a true friend, gentleman, honest, with forbearance and ever ready assistance surpassing all. So as we say our "good byes" - and old English word for - "God be with you"

Uncle George- In loving memory of a kind and special uncle who over the years has given me the gift of so many happy memories. Our first rubber dingy that took hours to inflate, my first football match Southend v Aldershot, and of course, the many cine film shows in the front room with a bowl of grapes.
These were all down to you. Then there were the trips to London on the train, the boating lake and the putting green in Shoebury, and if we were good a toffee apple or choc ice at Uncle Toms Cabin. The list goes on.
Thank you for all the treasured memories and incredible kindness and generosity.
You will be forever in our hearts
Steve, Liz, Sarah and Rob.

I will always remember and treasure my stays with you, gran and grandad during the school summer holidays with trips to the beach and train rides on the pier. And not forgetting numerous trips to London Zoo when you first got your cine camera.
And in later years doing the same when I visited with my own family.
We will miss you immensely and you will be forever in our hearts.
