George James Frederick Bailey (11 Apr 1933 - 27 Feb 2023)

In loving memory of George James Frederick Bailey who sadly passed away on 27th February 2023.
George James Fredrick Bailey was born at 67, Belgrave Road , Plaistow , London , E13. on the 11th April 1933 to parents George & Florence.
George was the oldest of his siblings, Jean & Bill .
George lived at various locations in the East End of London until carrying out his National Service in Scotland, where George met his future wife Isabella Young Dow.
George lived in Scotland with his wife and had 2 children, Elizabeth & Georgina before moving back to the East End of London where George had a further 3 children, Andrew, Isabella & Jane.
George lived at Anne Street where Andrew & Isabella were born, then George moved to 3, Boyce Way where Jane was born.
George worked most of his life as a Salmon Curer.
George worked so hard to provide for his family.
George was blessed with 14 Grandchildren & 19 Great Grandchildren.
After the death of George’s wife, George moved in with his daughter Isabella and lived with her and her husband Kevin in Basildon Essex for 21 years, before sadly passing away at Basildon Hospital on Monday 27th February 2023 at the age of 89.
George was a collector of everything relating to Al Jolson who he adored.
George collected everything to do with WW1 & WW2 and had a WAR ROOM at 3, Boyce Way.
Later in George’s life he collected models of war planes, ships, submarines & tanks.
George was a dab hand on his I Pad and George’s favourite app was E Bay, where the local Postman delivered parcels daily to George. I understand that the Postman is now having a well earned rest!
