In loving memory of John Augustine who sadly passed away on 18th February 2023
John, known to almost everybody as Gus, lead a long and happy life. He worked as an accountant, firstly for the Carreras Tobacco Company and then for the Costain Group, where he remained for the rest of his working life, undertaking work in Nigeria, Libya, Portugal, Belgium, Iran, UAE and Oman, as well as London-based jobs for Internal Audit and International Accounts departments.
Tennis was his passion and he played at least twice a week well into his 80s, until the Covid-19 pandemic closed the courts.
He enjoyed long walks with our various dogs over many years
He was a sociable man who enjoyed entertaining and being entertained. He will be much missed by his family and his friends.
If you are planning to come to his funeral service, please NO BLACK TIES and PLEASE WEAR SOMETHING BLUE - his favourite colour.

We met Gus in Brussels, where he was known and liked by, it seemed, everyone. He was a lovely, selfless and generous man.
