Royal Engineer Training party 81/1. Geoff would have been around 19. He was great fun to be around. I remember him leading the song Riding along in my automobile ( Chuck Berry ) As we bounced along in the back of a 4 ton Bedford. He gave it his all!!

Rest in peace Geoff, you'll be sorely missed. Your generosity and hospitality towards all of us was legendary and you've passed that on to your sons who I've no doubt will continue to do you proud every day. I'll never forget you puncturing a tyre on the way to the airport then fixing it in rapid time on the side of the motorway at 5am in the freezing cold and still getting us to the airport on time! A true king among men!

Geoff thanks for helping me gain confidence when I embarked on my career as a Food safety EHO. You had the skills to make anyone comfortable no matter what the situation was, you were very down to earth and fun to work with. Rest in peace Geoff !

Dings, the soldier with a soul of gold
A champion dancer, with moves so bold
His laughter rang out like a joyous bell
And his humor, oh how it did compel

In the barracks, he'd light up the room
With jokes and stories that dispelled the gloom
And when the night came and the music played
Dings took the floor, his soul on parade

His northern soul dance was a sight to see
A true master of rhythm and harmony
With each step, he filled the air with glee
And his smile, oh how it shone so free

In the heat of battle,(fight in Scatch) he stood his ground
With courage and valor that did astound
And even in moments of darkness and fear
Dings' light shone through, oh so clear

So here's to Dings, our mate so bright
With a soul that shines with a brilliant light
May his humor and laugh live on forevermore
And his memory bring us joy, evermore

Love & Miss You Dings
A True Legend 💔

I have absolutely no idea what to write… how can you put Geoff into words? My first work best friend and just the warmest human being you could imagine. A man so funny I went for loads of smoking breaks, even though I’ve never smoked… Geoff, you were responsible for so many hilarious memories that I’ll treasure for ever. Safe travels Dingers x. All our love to your wonderful family. Rich, Karen, Emily & James Hogben xxxx

Geoff, you were not only a great boss, but you were a great friend too. I could always go to you with anything, whatever that may be. You encouraged me to be the best I can be every single day and you believed in me all the way and always supported me and had my back. You were always super jolly and positive. You taught me so much and I will take this with me throughout my personal and work life.

I will miss our smoke breaks and putting the world to rights! Rest easy bud x
