I met Dominic in Madeira when Sofia came to introduce her boyfriend to the Portuguese family. The whole family surrendered to his friendliness, although not all of them spoke English, but managed to interact with him. He had such a beautiful smile that he conquered anyone.
We continue to keep in touch through social media.
Last year they came to spend their holidays in Madeira and again we gathered the family to be together at my house.
I never thought it was the last time I would see and talk to him, I will never forget your smile and friendliness.
I remember telling him Dominic see you next year in Madeira.
Unfortunately it didn't happen, in January I found out about his illness, but I never thought that in 2 weeks this would be the outcome. I thought that doctors are also wrong and he is strong, he will resist!!! I was completely wrong.
It didn't happen, the time had come for him to stay here on earth and so it was.
But as the poet says "Those we love never die, they just leave before us and never go alone, take a piece of us"
And we are on this side, we will always look after your most precious asset, of course Loullamae and Sofia too.
Until one day Cousin Dominic, you will always have a place in my heart.

I was very sorry to hear about Dominic's passing. Some people are so... remarkable they should just carry on into their old age. But sadly not this time.

Anyway, I met Dominic when I worked in Betfair. He worked on a very interesting tech project. And what made him stand out from the usual technologist was his ability to laterally think about issues and then work out how to make it happen.

And of course, he was a very very accomplished musician and songwriter.

Anyway, he was a wonderful person...I am very sorry to see him go.

I met Dom in the 90s during my time in the music business and he remained a dear friend until his tragic passing. He supported me when I set up my own music management company in Chiswick offering me support and office space at AL Digital. Not only was he a mentor to me at this time but a dear friend who offered me guidance and support. I've so many happy memories with Dom from attending The Ivor Novello awards where he was celebrated for writing his No 1 hit Stay Another Day for East 17 and was so touched to be invited to celebrate his 50th birthday in London. He was a true gentleman who always had a beaming smile. You will be terribly missed Dom. Love and condolences to Sophia and Loullamae xx

A chance meet with Dominic in a pub on Chiswick’s riverside during the mid 90’s ended up being a major turning point in my life. He believed in me and gave me the opportunity to embark on a career as a music producer. He let me into his world and along with the team at AL Digital, supported my early career for five years. I knew him as an enigmatic, charming man, always a plan on the go and a trick up his sleeve. He was a very private person and we didn’t always see eye to eye, but I am forever grateful for the help he gave me in that defining period. I was shocked and upset to hear the news, his energy and his music lives on.
