The ‘Dave Disney Life Celebration’ is to be held at 12 noon Saturday 18th March 2023 at Littleover Methodist Church, with afterparty at the Littleover Lodge Hotel, Derby.
A life celebration is like a memorial service but much more informal (there is no casket bearing the loved one’s remains). A quiet service at a crematorium will have been held in early March, for family members to say “au revoir” separately.
You will have guessed that Dave does not want any black clothing or long faces. Most of all, he wants your presence, and for you to be totally comfortable. Brighter attire and clubs’ and organisations’ insignia and logos would go down well.
We want everyone to feel welcome at this our “home Church” in Derby. Until his illness, Dave was very active in the Littleover Church worship band so be prepared for a good sing and cheerful music.
No flowers, but charity donations to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) which was close to Dave’s heart. The various methods of giving will be explained on the day.

Dave was a long time member of the Derbyshire Radio Control Flyers model aeroplane, club based at Ashbourne airfield. He was a life-long modeler and had many superb scratch built models. For over 30 years he served on the exec committee in the role of Club Treasurer as well as being a club instructor and examiner for the BMFA achievement scheme. His contribution to the smooth running of the club, along with his words of wisdom and bad jokes will be greatly missed.

Dave was such a wonderful person who was generous and kind, whose faith was evident (but with an appalling sense of humour and equally bad jokes!)
