In loving memory of Ian Frank Kemp who sadly passed away on 30th December 2022.

Ian was a cherished husband, dad, grandad and pal to his family and leaves a space in our family that will never be filled.

Ian was born on 7th August 1934 to Ada and Walter. He was a brother to Walter, Margaret, Stan and Alan. He attended Latymer School and served his National Service in the RAF at Gutersloh, Germany. During his childhood he was a member of the Boys Brigade and gained many badges. As a young man he became a Boys Brigade leader and passed on the skills he had learnt as a child. He met and fell in love with Ann and they married on 16th June 1956. He leaves Ann and his two daughters Jennifer and Carolyn and their respective husbands Andrew and Jeremy. He had four grandchildren of whom he was so proud - James, Jonathan, Daisy and Henry.

Ian worked in non-marine insurance in London all of his working life before retiring in his early 60s. He joined Hadleigh Bowls Club and Benfleet Castle Point Probus Club and enjoyed many happy years as an active member of both. He assumed the role of match secretary at the bowls club and was a past president of Probus.

Ian and Ann loved to travel during their retirement and visited many countries around the world. His favourite place by far was Cornwall - a place he loved to call 'God's golden acre'.

We met Ian and Ann decades later than we might have done. It was wonderful to discover half-sister Ann and her husband Ian after so long. We greatly enjoyed Ian’s company - and Ann’s too, of course. Ian will be sadly missed but dearly remembered. With our love. Penelope and Greg
