In loving memory of Darren Keith Russell who sadly passed away on 29th December 2022 after a short battle with prostate cancer.
Dar was well known through his varied careers as a mechanic, RAF dog handler, police officer and security controller.
We would love family, friends and colleagues to share some memories and/or photos of Darren that we can use as part of his funeral service.
All are welcome at the funeral and wake on Monday 16 January (full details above), but it would be really helpful if you let us know if you are planning to attend below.
Please can we request that flowers are restricted to family only and if anyone would like to make a donation to charity instead, they choose from the options above.

When we think of Darren, we think of a kind, fun friend, but looking through photos recently reminds us he was so much more to us. Every crazy birthday party for Tom, Darren was there helping in the cold wet weather (the Dad’s being a little more competitive than the kids), Lauren’s more sedate birthday meals, the bring your Dad to school day that John couldn’t make but Darren stepped in for William who was so proud to have a ‘hero’ there for him, the sports day where he picked up an injured John and carried him off the field (much to John’s disgust!) So many happy memories, that trip to Legoland has to be a favourite though. Love to Lynne and Kyle today and always xx

I knew Darren from my days at Walton St and also when he worked at POW. I enjoyed our chats when we met and sorry there will be no more. He was a great bloke who was taken far too soon. Glad to have known him. My condolences to his family

Darren was one of those great men who cannot be forgotten. We would encounter each other often on the grounds of Westminster Palace and spend a few minutes chatting. Darren always came across as a very calm and sensible person. He often offered great advice and always shared a great interest in what was going on in my life, listening carefully. I consider it a great privilege and blessing to be able to call him a friend. Although he is no longer with us, he will not be forgotten
