Eric Raymond Birch sadly passed away on 5th December 2022. Loving husband to Win, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Eric never let a day go by without a joke and a smile.
Eric worked tirelessly for his family and was a respected and successful businessman through Canvey Yacht Builders, otherwise known as Jaguar Yachts. He is well known on Canvey Island by many through his business ventures and socially at the local pubs as well as the Conservative and Chapman Sands Yacht clubs.
We will celebrate the life of Eric on the 29th December at 11.20 at the Southend Crematorium and afterwards at the Naval and Military Club, 20 Royal Terrace, Southend-on-Sea SS1 1DU.
In true Eric style, formal black attire is not expected and everyone who knew him is welcome.
Eric's final days were spent at the Admiral Court Care Home where he was looked after with kindness through his Alzheimers illness, therefore we would thank you for making a donation to Alzheimers Research rather than providing a gift of flowers. You can make your donation on this site or there will be a donation box at the funeral.

Eric was a truly unique man, kind generous and always great fun to be with. I feel privileged to have known him and call him a friend. My family all feel the same. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Eric was a fantastic squash buddy of mine. We would have a mad 45 mins leaping around on court and then retiring to the waterside bar for some well earned pints. An amazing man with great sense of humour and superb company. Will miss him. RIP dear Eric.
