So many fond memories of being your nephew, I always looked forward to going to your house – I always thought it was magical for some reason?! Perhaps the spooky cellar, being overlooked by the windmill and the park up there with the massive slide but always because you, Aunty Margaret would be there.
You always called me Benjamin and not just when I was in trouble! Right up to the last time I spoke to you.
The unmistakable handwriting on the card landing at Christmas or July would always but a smile on my face – I don’t think you ever missed anybody’s birthday did you?!
You always kept the family in check, telling it like it was and not afraid to give anyone what for if required - which meant Christmas was always fun! And they were, I remember many at yours, all of us there Mum, Dad, Emma, Gromma, Grandad, Colin, Ken, Henry, John and Kath when they were over– often involved a walk and one of Grandads favourite watering holes and back for dinner, or walking back from Meadow Lane on Boxing Day after the footy – plenty of wine and stories, usually ending up in ones that took the mickey out my Dad – Losley!
Unfortunately, life passes by so quickly from the memories above to the more sorrowful ones made in the last few weeks, the memories of the last year which on the whole have not been great but it's important to remember the special ones – your infectious laugh and beaming smile, always had a hug and kiss for us and you always made me smile!
Thank you for being a wonderful Aunty, I hope Rio (with or without pants on his head!) Rarney, Merlin and the others were waiting for you – you will be missed.
Lots of love – Ben xx
