With love and very happy memories of uncle pat being the neatest thing I had to an uncle .... Great memories of my 18 and 21 birthdays, him supporting the Aunts, looking together at photos. So many more. My last time with him was feeding the Donkies with him I was petrified he was going to fall . We had such a laugh

I asked the girls what their memories were of uncle Pat - they said they remembered being put on Bubble and Squeak and being told one of them was very grumpy so to watch out; being taken to see the badger sets; playing hide and seek in the woods and having dinner with Pat and Jane with uncle Pat carving the roast at the table!
My memories are of an uncle who when I was young I found quite difficult to work out! I also didn't appreciate being shown the pheasants hanging up in the barn! However I do have very fond memories of visiting and staying at the farm including Pat and Jane trying to teach me how to ride and seeing Pat on Nugget. I also remember the farm when it was mixed and loved collecting eggs and feeding the lambs. As I got older I enjoyed his wit and outspoken manner. I was interested in the changes to the farm and how he invested in developing the valley woodland area and what he would tell us about the barn owls and of course the donkeys and highland cattle. More recently I was horrified and impressed by the mini Stonehenge type memorial he had created for Auntie Jane.
So in short we all have some great memories and send you Derek our love and support at what is a sad and difficult time.
Ann
