On 16th June 2022, peacefully, in hospital, of Batley, aged 65 years, Bill, beloved son of the late George and Edith Carrigill, much loved husband of Sue, dearly loved father of Emma and Robert and a very dear and loved brother and uncle.
Funeral service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Woodkirk on Monday 4th July 2022 at 12.30pm followed by a private interment in the churchyard. Friends please accept this intimation and meet at the church.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu may be made online or placed in the collection box provided for the benefit of the Injured Jockey’s Fund and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Was checking today’s racing results and there was the race in Bill’s memory at Pontefract (where else). Had no idea and feel awful that I didn’t. Will raise a glass to Bill, to his family and to happy memories on Friday.

Dear Sue, Emma and Robert, Bill will be sadly missed since he was my boss after George passed away. He loved my Tiramasu and always had something funny to say that made us laugh. It was a pleasure to work for Carrigills up until I became ill in 2015. God bless and may he rest in peace.

Dear Sue, Robert and Emma we were both so upset when Mum and Dad gave us the news that Bill had passed away suddenly. Wayne and myself are thinking of you all, sending love and hugs. Bill was such a lovely, warm and friendly person always entertaining us when in his company with his stories and making us laugh loads.
