I have lovely memories of my Auntie Vera from when we lived in Kent when I was a young girl. We would visit Maidstone regularly at the weekends to visit our Grandma, and Vera, Arthur, Jane and John. I loved playing in the garden and visiting the shop at the bottom of the road to buy sweets. Vera looked after me the first time I stayed away from home when I was 7. When Vera and her family were on holiday in Rye, we would go and visit, staying in our caravan. We saw less of our Kent family when we moved to Norfolk, but in recent (pre-COVID) years my parents and I visited Vera several times and enjoyed seeing her so settled and comfortable in her home. She will be very much missed by us all.
