To my Margaret, a wonderful wife, a marvellous Mum.

I think of you every day and night.

We had a long and happy marriage with two lovely daughters.

You are not just loved by your close family, but also by all your relations and friends.

For now we are apart for a short time and I will miss you more every day that passes. But when we are next together it will be for eternity.

My love for you is endless.

God bless you, Den xxx

I have so many wonderful memories of Margaret and the happy times I spent with her and Teddy when I was young. Smiles and laughter were abundant, she was such a positive, enthusiastic person to be around and I can’t believe how much I can remember, her generous spirit had a lasting impact. Little things that meant a lot to a child included cake boxes on the working service with hidden treats, big bags of M&S crisps in coloured Tupperware bowls in front of the TV (thanks to Denise’s Saturday job 😄) and how her irrepressible love extended to animals too with Thumper and Likkle One, the white rabbit small enough to fit in a brandy glass when she rescused him from Teddy’s school. And then of course we had to be quiet on the balcony at Peabody Tower when the pidgeons were nesting in case we disturb them 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’m pretty sure some of this love came from Dennis too, they were a great couple, raised two gifted, kind daughters and it was a privilege to be a part of their lives for a while. Sending so much love to Dennis, Denise, Teddy and the rest of the family. Margaret was a beautiful soul. Janet xxx

Thank you to everyone who attended Mum's funeral last week or watched the service on the Webcast. Your love and support has definitely carried us through this difficult time. Thanks also to those of you who sent flowers or donated to Mum's charities. We are overwhelmed by the totals donated to her chosen charities and we know Mum would have been delighted. xxx

  • It was a beautiful service, Denise and Teddy’s memories of their amazing mum made me laugh and cry, such a fitting farewell to a wonderful, much-loved woman. As sad as it is for those left to miss her, imagine her joy at reuniting with her loved ones in Spirit who would have been waiting with open arms.

Mum & Dad met Margaret & Den at the cricket, not long after I was adopted in 1967. They became great friends and enjoyed a couple of holidays with them in their retirement years. As a youngster, I used to *love* visiting Margaret & Den and staying with them in Peabody Towers. I recall feeling very sad every time we boarded the train at Euston to travel back to Lytham. Why? Because they were just fantastic to be with and the kindest couple one could ever hope to meet. Margaret always had my back if I got into trouble or was naughty, she would de-fuse any friction with Mum & Dad immediately (with a smile of course). Margaret & Den kindly let me stay when I was enrolled on a course in London in 1991, transitioning to civilian life from the Royal Navy. I asked if I could play some Queen on the Hi-Fi and she said “of course my love”. I put it on at a respectable volume. Margaret was making the evening meal in the kitchen and she shouted “no, no, turn it up!!!”. Sadly, it's been a while since I last saw Margaret but (to me) she played an important part in my childhood and I will miss her very much. I'm sending all my love to Teddy, Denise and all the family at this difficult time. XX

Margaret, it has been an honour and a pleasure to have known you for over forty years. Our relationship has been built on mutual affection and respect and you always treated me as your son. I will always be grateful for your support, especially during the years Bobbi was young and Denise was ill. Thank you for sharing countless birthdays, christmases, anniversaries and holidays with us.
You will be forever missed.
Love and hugs.
Ian xx

I don’t know where to begin , I know I probably may not have made it without you and Uncle Den and the love and kindness and the second home you provided . What wonderful memories I have and will always treasure of you and mum in the kitchen in the early hours of Christmas Day , making sure everything was just right . Aunt Marg you just got me and that was not easy I know . I love you and you will me terribly missed by all .
I’m sure by now with no more pain , you’ve already got your dancing shoes back on . Love you x
