This page is to commemorate the colourful life of our dear Mum and wife Susie Lou, who we will miss so greatly. Sue found joy in every day and lived life to the max, she lit up every room she entered, a complete force of nature. Sue was incredibly fun-loving, the life and soul of every party, her bright spirit and magnetism attracted her many beloved friends. She was a dedicated and inspiring teacher whose passion for delivering exceptional early years standards was widely admired and celebrated. She was a fantastic wife, mum, sister, daughter and Nonna to her adored grandchildren, who cherished every moment spent with her.

We have received so many lovely tributes to mum and we would love for this page to be used to share all your best memories of Sue as well as raising some funds for two local charities close to her heart. Gold Geese and Fair Havens, who did a fantastic job of looking after her at the end of her life.
She left this world feeling an abundance of love, and she was completely and utterly blown away by the support she received in the last 18 months. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As Sue would say - Always remember to 'Eat the Happiness' x

Please find attached a link to a spotify playlist, if you would like to add any songs that you enjoyed with Sue, these will be played at her wake.

In 1986 I came as an 16-years-old English student from Germany to Southend and the Westmores were my family for this summer. I had such a wonderful time there, they made me a real part of their family, we had lots of fun and Sue - only 10 years older than me, I can't believe it now - did such a great job as a caring mum for not only Tom and Amy (Molly wasn't born that time) but also me. When I came back for a visit with my parents one year later, Tom insisted I spend the night at their house and for Sue it was no option that my parents go to a B&B, they had to go to her mum's (or was it her grandma?) house! Over all these years there were so many moments I remembered that time as one of the best I ever had, because there was so much love in this family.
It's a big coincidence I found this obituary and I hardly can't tell how sad it makes me to know that Sue has passed away, but it comforts me that she had this really wonderful and loving family around in her hard times.
Sue, I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart!

Sue had such a lovely bright vibrant personality. Our paths crossed through childminding, as a funny and enthusiastic Principal Boy in some of the Gilbert Amateur Dramatic Society (GADS) Pantomimes .. oh yes she did! at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and in her role as teacher at school, and other social events.
You will be sorely missed xx

We first met at Belfairs and our paths continued to cross through childminding, tutoring and working together in the Early Years Team
We had so many laugh and such fun together. I will always remember you Sue as you gave so much and always did your best for the children even if it wasn’t by the book. I always have a little laugh when I think of the nativity you lead and the faces when you produced live animals oh what fun the kids had but that was our Sue if it meant the kids had fun do it x
Live love and be happy xx

Sue, I met you when we were fellow Guides, I was Seconder to your Patrol Leader in the Robin Patrol. Years later I took Phoebe to meet her new Reception class teacher, Mrs Westmore, and there you were 'Susan Owen' - I couldn't believe it. And what a brilliant first year Phoebe had at school, with you as her teacher xxxx
