In loving memory of Elise Thomas who sadly passed away on 25th May 2022.
Born in 1928, Elise had a full, happy and eventful 93 years of life. Happily married twice; she had children, step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom she adored. Refined, elegant and fiercely independent, she lived in her own home managing her own affairs until the last few weeks of her life.
Taken to Southend Hospital on April 26th; she was soon transferred to Fair Havens Hospice where she received dedicated and compasionate care.
We will remain eternally grateful to Fair Havens for their kindness. To reflect this gratitude, instead of flowers we would ask for donations to be made to the hospice. This can be done via this web-page or on the day of the funeral.
Elise expressed the wish that all her friends and family got together after her funeral for a joyful celebration of her life. To this end, the family hope you will be able to join us at a reception where food will be served. This will be held in Old Leigh at The Boatyard, 8-13, High Street, Leigh-on-Sea SS9 2EN. It would be most helpful if you could RSVP (on this site) so that we can plan numbers. Parking is notoriously difficult in the Old Town - we have at least 6 to 8 places reserved at The Boatyard - please feel free to use these especially if you have trouble walking. General parking is available under the flyover or at Leigh railway station.

Thank you everyone who has given in one way or another - Fair Havens is such a worthwhile charity.
On a seperate note; I thought the service and celebration afterwards was quite wonderful - so fitting in every way. Thank you everyone for coming and for your extraordinary kindness to all the family over these last few weeks.

Elise was my dearest dearest friend. We met at least once a week and had many lovely outings which we enjoyed and laughed a lot. I will never forget her.
