Liam, Darren and all the team at Southgate and Roberts are outstanding. Our beloved Husband and Dad passed within just over 24 hours that left us grief stricken and completely in shock. We had no idea what to do and finding a funeral director was one of the most difficult decisions we had to make. As soon as I rang and Liam answered I knew instantly I had chosen the right one. The compassion, understanding and warmth from Liam was amazing. The team helped us through an extremely difficult time with dignity and professionalism. It is like they knew our Dad with all the little touches too. On the day of the funeral it was extremely well organised in fine detail and very professional. Liam and his team looked immaculate. We want to thank you for all your care to us and looking after our wonderful Husband and Dad so beautifully in what has been a devastating time for us all. You should be very proud of the amazing service you provide. Janet, John and David.

The team at Southgate and Roberts have been absolutely amazing from start to finish. Well in fact even before I ever thought I would need them. One of the partners left a lasting impression on me years ago so it was them that made me think to use them. I am so glad we went with my initial instinct because they did not disappoint. Their attention to detail, support, and understanding made every step of this heartbreaking journey that much easier. Particularly Darren who helped us throughout. He's a lovely person and completely got our families sense of humour even when we joked throughout. Thank you for caring for my dad is such a kind and considerate way and doing your absolute best to complete our wishes and meet/exceed our expectations. Although I hope to not need your services again in a hurry....we will always choose to use you and recommend you.

I cannot recommend Southgate and Roberts enough for how they dealt with the funeral of my Dad, Graham. They were the only local company that we spoke to who were understanding and caring and really took the time to understand our needs. They were amazing and as a family we will be eternally grateful for how they dealt with everything.

We were so pleased we chose Southgate and roberts for our mums funeral. Having never had to plan a funeral before they were so helpful and compassionate and always there with advice or talking me through things on the phone whenever I needed help, this included advice on my speech for the funeral. The actual service was beautiful and we had many people comment how lovely it was. All the people who work there were brilliant from start to finish and we would highly recommend.

This was the first funeral which I had to organise. I felt overwhelmed with grief and completely out of my depth. I regularly panicked and lost sleep over silly details. None of this was a problem. Liam and his team answered my many questions. They dealt with me in a kind and gentle way. They were available to talk to and reassured me along the way. They made a miserable experience into a bearable one. 

I hope that I never have to organise another funeral again, but if I did I know my first call would be to Southgateandroberts.

From my first contact I felt very comfortable and well looked after. Any questions I had were dealt with efficiently and any contacts I needed to make the day memorable were given. Advice was given concerning things like registering the death and dealing with the Coroner. All very helpful during such stressful times. The service itself was lovely and it's been great watching it again online. Wasn't sure I wanted to do that but so glad I did, you can miss so much on the day.

This is the third time I have used Southgate & Roberts, at such a difficult and emotional time, its hard to know what to do. I instantly felt reassured and relieved by Liam, Matt, and the rest of the team that my fathers funeral would reflect the kind of man he was and they did exactly that. Its the small details, love and care that sets them apart, the beautifully hand waxed coffin exactly as i requested, being able to travel with Dad one last time in the hearse and not forgetting the glass of prosecco at the end of the service. So many commented on how professional and personal the funeral was. So once again a huge thank you for continuing to provide the highest standard.

I can not thank Liam and his team at Southgate & Roberts enough for everything they did to make Mums funeral go so well.
They were so sympathetic and professional, dealing with every detail of the arrangements. Even going so far as to take the coffin I had chosen to the florist, to make sure the flowers would sit steadily on top.
I really didn't know which funeral director to contact but I am so pleased I chose Southgate & Roberts.

Arranging a funeral when you have never had to before is difficult and even more so during COVD-19. I can honestly say Liam and his team were kind and extremely professional at all times. From the moment I spoke to him I knew I could trust that Southgate and Roberts would provide a high level of service. With no face to face meetings possible I had to rely on my intuition and I believe it did not let me down.

Julian (celebrant) was amazing and many of the mourners commented about how well he conducted the service and his approach was just right. Again, I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Southgate and Roberts are funeral directors where nothing is too much trouble and no question goes unanswered. My mum liked a Bacardi and coke and Liam arranged to have at the end of the service Bacardi and coke for everyone! Such a lovely touch that put a smile on everyone's faces and we were able to toast my mum one final time.

So, if you are faced with arranging a funeral for a loved one you cannot go wrong with choosing Southgate and Roberts in my opinion.

I can not recommend them enough. Even with the restrictions of the pandemic, Liam was able to maintain standards and provide a top service. I can also say that, without obligation, Liam checked dates and locations and got the process going. We were also very impressed with their in house florist. Really stunning arrangements that lasted for weeks afterwards.

Excellent. Southgate & Roberts guided us through a very difficult time. They made us feel “safe” that Dad was being treated with Dignity and Kindness. Liam also took the time, to explain the needed paperwork, and also how to arrange the order of service. No question or concern was too big / small or too silly, in fact Liam’s standard reply to the majority of my questions was “of course we can Kim!”.
Celebrant - Helen Sugars was also Excellent, she took the time to speak to the family members, getting a real feeling and understanding of my Dad. This enabled her to deliver a Sermon which everyone could relate to, bringing a tear and a little giggle at points which Dad would have liked.
Obviously saying Goodbye to Dad was very difficult, but the professionalism and care which was given to us throughout the day made a difficult day so much easier. Thank You.
