The celebrant (Rachael) was professional beyond our expectations and looked after us so well.

I cannot thank Liam and the team enough for the kindness and sympathy they showed after the passing of my brother, they really went above and beyond for my family. Everything was arranged seamlessly and Liam was always on hand whenever we needed advice or guidance.

Matt, Darren, Liam and the rest of the team made a very difficult time much easier to cope with. Their kindness and compassion shown to myself and my family was so lovely, and once my husband was in their care they also treated him with kindness and respect. Nothing was to much trouble for them, and all the personal touches they added made such a difference on the day of the funeral. I would definitely recommend Southgate and Roberts.

When my husband unexpectedly passed away just three months after moving to the area from Bournemouth, we were completely at a loss, not knowing any local businesses. One look at the reviews for Southgate & Roberts told us this Funeral Directors seemed to be a cut above the rest; and so it proved to be. From our first meeting with Liam; with his long experience, sheer humanity and respect for my husband as well as the family, we knew we were in safe hands. Liam guided us gently through the process and assured us we must never worry, and that if we were concerned about anything, to just call, no matter the time, day or night. The feeling of relief knowing we'd made a good choice was further enhanced when we met Julian the Celebrant. Julian was patient and kind, listened to us and did such a good job of making the Funeral into a real celebration of my husband's life. There was laughter as well as tears, and even a lovely folder with the Eulogy in handed to us afterwards. Everyone we met, from the office staff to the pall-bearers was just lovely and we are so please we chose and remain deeply indebted to them.

My beloved husband died recently on the 7th of January 2023 and I am on my own with my four year old son. I had no where to go and no idea of what would happen for funeral then I googled and approached South gate and Roberts. Mr. Darren Lucas funeral director was amazingly helpful in every possible way and sorted even minute details according to my wishes. Darren not only took good care of me also respected the extended family's wishes to every possible context. I greatly appreciate the work ethics dedication and honesty of Darren and the whole team. He quoted me a Price and never changed it again also Darren eased the burden off my shoulders in a way to arrange flowers and most importantly priest as we are Hindus. I can't thank Darren enough. He always listened to me carefully and was connected emotionally on every step till the very end. I felt as if he was my close family here in England during my adversity. I am more than happy to recommend Southgate and Roberts for their unwavering support excellent services honesty and helpfulness beyond measure.

My beloved sister passed away very unexpectedly, which left our family completely shocked and heartbroken.
A friend recommended Southgate & Roberts and I’m so pleased they did.
The compassion, dignity and professionalism they demonstrated was outstanding. Darren, Julian and the team at Southgate & Roberts really went above and beyond for my sister but also cared for us as a family throughout the stressful and emotional process of planning her funeral. 
As a family we couldn’t recommend the company enough, my sister got the send off she deserved and that is all thanks to the amazing team at Southgate & Roberts!

Thank you Darren and Julien, You made your company proud. I have been extremely overwhelmed with your care, understanding, patience. You knew how to listen and were very interested in my mum's life. I was impressed by your research and adding something special to the service was a pleasant surprise.
This is a quality that only special people could have. My friend and family were amazed by your service and I am very happy I could offer my dear mum an exceptional farewell. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Southgate and Roberts carried out the service for my father 7 years ago and for my mother on 25.10.22. They truly do go 'above and beyond' to accommodate the smallest of details. Even down to listening to a conversation around how my mum loved a polo, and there they were at the end of the service with a bowl of polo's for everyone which just a bought a smile of happy memories to all those that truly knew her. The research they did to end the memories on a perfectly suitable quote from Winnie The Pooh, again another passion of my mums but so unexpected.

Everything was just perfect! thank you all so much x

Southgate and Roberts supported me from when I first approached them and continued throughout the panning, the decision making the funeral itself and continuing even now. They have been available at the end of a phone at all times and made all the arrangements at my home. The funeral itself was above and beyond what I had hoped and prayed for. 
I thank them most sincerely for the professional and o so caring services that they provided.

From the moment I stepped into their office, I knew they were the people for me. Very warm, kind and genuine. They guided me through the whole process as it was my first time having to bury a loved one. They went above and beyond to make my mothers funeral special and I cannot thank them enough. Making the first call was honestly one of the hardest things I've done and my call was answered by Liam who immediately put me at ease by showing me compassion. Eventually Darren took over and continued to show the same compassion, even the comfort of "contact me anytime". He never made me feel less than for any questions I may have had and went above and beyond for my family. Its never easy doing these things but they make the process alot easier. Thankyou for looking after my Dad so well.

The lovely Darren from Southgate and Roberts was professional, personable and attentive to my needs and those of the family following the loss of mummy. This is the second time in a year that we have used Southgate and Roberts and I have no issue recommending them and their services. They cared for mummy from the day she passed, until the funeral. They are have such as caring manner and you always feel in safe hands, nothing is too much and they are there around the clock. In what is a really tough time in life, is made easier with funeral directors like Darren and Liam.
