About Us

Tamworth Co-operative Funeral Service has been helping bereaved families for more than 125 years.

The funeral home in Polesworth opened in 2026, providing a full range of funeral services, led by Lisa and Leanne and supported by an experienced team - from traditional funerals and faith-based ceremonies to themed funerals and celebrations of life.

The Polesworth funeral directors are on call to help families from the moment they are bereaved and have close ties with the local community they serve. They help families to arrange a funeral that is truly fitting for their loved one, with a private chapel of rest offering quiet time for reflection, at the comfortable and recently refurbished premises.

As part of one of the last independent cooperative societies in the UK, Tamworth Co-operative Funeral Service won Good Funeral Awards for its caring bereavement support services. The team is also able to provide guidance for families negotiating the DWP’s funeral support application forms and repatriations services when someone dies away from home.

Whether families choose a funeral with a traditional hearse, or more bespoke service with a personalised coffin or floral tributes, or a simplified direct cremation option, support is on hand throughout.

The Polesworth funeral directors are Members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, members of the Funeral Planning Authority and also members of British Institute of Embalmers. They can also help with online obituaries, memorial masonry and special keepsakes including fingerprint jewellery.
