About Us
A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in Retford proudly carries forward the trusted service previously provided by G.D. Hall Funeral Directors, supporting families across North Nottinghamshire with care, dignity and professionalism.
Conveniently located in the heart of Retford and close to a large public car park, the funeral home offers an easily accessible and practical location for families. The premises provide a private, homely and welcoming environment, designed to offer comfort and reassurance when making funeral arrangements.
The Retford funeral home serves Retford and the surrounding areas, including Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood, West Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire, tailoring each funeral to reflect individual wishes.
Previously owned and managed by Graham and Diane Hall, the funeral home became part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service on 3rd April 2026. The premises are currently transitioning from the G.D. Hall name and will fully adopt the A.W. Lymn identity over the coming months, while maintaining the same high standards of personal care.
Families are welcome to make contact by telephone at any time to arrange an appointment, including meetings outside of standard office hours, at a mutually convenient time.

Excellent service in most areas. Sam, Damien & Kirk were a credit to your company. They made us feel very supported and comfortable dealing with a difficult process. The service & support we received on the day was first rate. However the service we received from the celebrant wasn’t as good as was hoped.
