We can’t thank Wendy and her lovely team enough for taking care of us and of our dear dad/husband. Such compassion and empathy, Wendy was a strength and a comfort to us when we were so bewildered. The chapel of rest was lovely. On the day of the cremation, our funeral Director Dave was like a friend to us, having visited us at home the day before to get to  know us and help with our questions. Thankyou Wendy and Dave, it meant more than you know to have you help us through our sadness, bringing light and smiles to our faces. Bless you xxx

I have waited a while to post this review as I wanted to do it justice. Despite my stepfather having taken out two insurance policies for other funeral directors, mum decided to use Debbie Bennett as she had seen a funeral organised by them and “liked” what she had seen, but couldn’t actually say why - it was just a feeling. 

You know when they say trust your gut - well this was exactly the right decision. 

We dealt with Wendy at the Old Roan branch. From the minute we spoke on the phone to weeks after the funeral, Wendy has been an angel. 

What was a very upsetting experience has been made pleasant - I know that sounds wrong, but it’s true. 

It’s not a service Wendy offers, it’s a friendship, when a friend is needed most. Discrete, professional, and caring, funny, sad, and appropriate all at the same time. 

She even bought mum a birthday cake and her and Wendy’s husband sat with mum in the chapel of rest whilst quietly remembering her birthday - involving my stepdad. That alone made mum’s day. They got it exactly right. 

Wendy organised everything- with our approval - and everything and everyone involved couldn’t have been more helpful and caring. 

Stephen who printed the order of service, David the funeral director on the day, the drivers and pallbearers - all exceptional. 

The best way I can show how good Debbie Bennett’s is, is to let you know, both mum and I have added to our wills, our funerals are to be overseen by Wendy. 

This is a real family business. We came across three generations; Wendy, her daughter, and her grandson Ryan - all of whom had exactly the same ethos- help, support, and care. 

Again this sounds wrong - but I can honestly say “Wendy, I look forward to seeing you again” just not too soon.

Excellent, professional service throughout. Every member of the team at Old Roan was so helpful and put our family at ease during a very sad and difficult time. When my brother passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve, the whole family was in a terrible state. I rang funeral experts and we were advised to speak to Wendy. Wendy was just amazing so patient and sympathetic we had a tight budget as My brother didn’t have any savings or life insurance, she told us not to worry we could still give our brother the send off he deserved and I knew I he was going to get looked after. Mark had already been in the coroners office for 3 weeks so we where so anxious, Wendy called me to check we where ok and every time I called she always had a solution and really went above and beyond. We also decided that we will need a celebrant as we where doing the service ourselves, it was last minute but Wendy managed to get us Angela at such short notice and we could not have picked anyone better, she made the service so personal and a real celebration of his life. I could not have done all this without them, Joanne and the funeral director team were all so lovely and kept us all calm. Joanne walked in front of the hurse on the day and this was such a lovely touch you could not hear a pin drop at the crem.
It’s hard when someone passes especially when they are young and it was so sudden, but to know he had the best send off anyone could of possibly had the way they handled it on the day makes me feel I done my brother proud and he’s now at peace.
I just want to thank  you to all the staff and especially Wendy they are all a credit to the company.

Amazing service from Wendy at the old roan branch . Everything was explained in depth regarding funeral options and all questions got answered so you know exactly what the process is and what will happen on the day of the funeral.

My wife passed away in May of this year and it has taken me a long time to be able to speak or write about it, so this review is long overdue for which I apologise. Debbie Bennet has to be one of the best funeral services on Merseyside. Debbie and Wendy have an amazing ability to connect, liaise, care and have great empathy with bereaved people. Wendy has a heart of gold and offers support way beyond the normal remit of the service that is provided. Debbie even assisted with DWP paperwork. I can’t praise the service highly enough and struggle to find words that do this significantly enough. Having used three other different funeral services in the last three years , Debbie Bennet and all her staff will be who I return to whenever needed in the future. I thank them wholeheartedly for how they helped me through a very dark time. Love these people, genuinely grateful they are here for all. Brian

The Clarke family can't thank Wendy and Sue enough for all their help and support through this difficult time.
We were kept informed and nothing was too much trouble, they had taken all the stress away even though we had to bring Frank home from Oxfordshire.
Sue opened up on her day off to allow family members who had travelled to Liverpool from London to see Frank one last time.
They took care of all the family, not just Frank.

On the day of the funeral, Carl and the drivers were extremely smart and professional, adding touches of respect that everybody commented on.

Massive thanks go to Wendy, a lovely lady who co-ordinated everything with a genuine warmth and helpfulness that's exceptional nowadays. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

Overall, we truly couldn't be more satisfied and would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I came to DBFD to look for the best funeral plan for my dad I was greeted by the lovely Wendy who gave me the best advice in choosing the plan we was looking for. Sadly my dad passed away the following week I went to see Wendy to let her know he had passed and the level of her going above and beyond was unbelievable she could not do enough for me and my family calling me up asking how I was doing even popping in to have a little chat was never a big deal she would take the time to make me a cuppa and have a little talk. Even opening up early so I could come see my dad before I went to work.

On the day of the funeral everything went perfect thank you Gemma.
