About Us
Richard Steel and Partners Ltd are a family-run Funeral Directors that have been serving Bishop’s Waltham and the surrounding areas of Hampshire since 1860, currently run by the fourth generation of Steel family.
The family business prides itself in helping the local communities and the company’s long association with Bishop’s Waltham began in 1990 with the acquisition of Thomas Pink & Son, since which the Winchester and Bishop’s Waltham teams have worked closely together to help and support families across Hampshire.
Iain Steel represents the fourth generation of the family to head the business, having joined his father over 30 years ago and he actively engages with and is involved in supporting the local community and a number of notable charities. Iain, along with Co-Directors Mark & Alison Hixon lead a team of 40 highly trained, professionally qualified staff to continue the family tradition of providing the best service possible for the families that they are privileged to serve and support.
Richard Steel and Partners have remained proud members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) for over 100 years, of whose Code of Practice the staff uphold to this day, which remains the industry standard for its Funeral Director members across the country. They are also members of highly acclaimed and respected international organisation Selected Independent Funeral Homes, where membership is by invitation only, which Richard Steel and Partners have exclusively represented in the Hampshire region for over 50 years.
Support for the families Richard Steel’s team serve does not stop after the funeral has taken place. The staff at Steels are available can provide dedicated and bespoke Bereavement Counselling to any clients wishing to make use of this complimentary service. For many families this support is invaluable in helping them to deal with and manage their grief following the loss of a loved one.
