A J Wakely & Sons is a family owned business with branches operating throughout Dorset, Somerset and Devon, having first Established in Bridport in 1897. The Lyme Regis Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1976.

A J Wakely’s highly trained staff are very knowledgeable of their local community resources and will do their best to help cater to specific requests, from arranging simple or traditional services, to elaborate and highly personalised, bespoke funerals.

The Lyme Regis branch is managed by director Simon Wakely, together with office manager Fran Apolon and supported by Chris Legg, who joined the business in 2012 and Tim Nickels, who has been Funeral Directing within Bridport and Lyme Regis for over 15 years.

Simon was collaborative, keen to help me get what I wanted. Everyone I dealt with was sympathetic and efficient. Chris and John were excellent too, facilitating our desire to dress Matthew and our wish for no formality or trappings and our desire to carry the coffin ourselves. I would highly recommend.
