Everyone was so kind and caring. They felt like friends you'd not seen for a while. I was fully informed in advance of what, when & where things would happen.
They also treated my late husband's body with great respect.
I'm glad I chose Head & Wheble.

I chose Head & Wheble to carry out the cremation for my mother as my partner had used them for the cremation for both of his parents.
The decision to have a direct cremation was based on practicality not cost and I informed the funeral directors of this at our meeting. I also let them know that both myself and my partner would be in attendance for my mother's arrival at Bournemouth crematorium.
At no point during the meeting to arrange the funeral was there any discussion of the type of coffin nor the number of attendants that would be used.
I was therefore shocked when the hearse arrived to find that the coffin appeared to be a cardboard box and that there was only the driver in attendance.
I have also had no response to an email I sent to Head and Wheble in May informing them of my distress and dissatisfaction of their service.

From the very beginning, the team were kind, friendly and personable. They carried out everything they promised with professionalism and dignity, and I felt that Lucy was treated with the utmost care and respect throughout.

There is just one small point that stopped this being a five-star experience. While I completely understand that discussing payment is part of the process, having the card machine placed in front of me while I was visibly upset felt a little insensitive. I appreciate that, for the funeral directors, this is something they deal with every day, but for families it's one of the hardest moments of their lives. A little more awareness of the timing of those conversations would make a real difference.

Overall, I would still recommend them. They did everything they were there to do with compassion and professionalism, and I'm grateful for the care they showed during such a difficult time.

From the very first conversation, they were warm, approachable, and genuinely easy to talk to, which made a difficult time feel far more manageable. One thing that really stood out was their flexibility and understanding of personal wishes. They were more than happy to move away from traditional expectations, even accommodating lighter clothing instead of the usual black, which meant a lot to us as a family. Their attention to detail and willingness to tailor everything made the whole process feel personal rather than procedural.

We asked for a funeral at home and they did all they could to make this possible. They visited the house to ensure everything would fit and provided a fantastic service in getting the coffin into place. They gave us the privacy we needed during the service and were very professional and warm when collecting the body.

My Mum had chosen a direct cremation. Head & Wheble offered a very good price I was very impressed with the respectful professional service offered. Simon and his wife were friendly and explained everything that would happen. We were surprised and delighted to be able to be at the cremortorm to see Mum off on her final journey. My thanks to all the staff, I have no hesitation in recommending Head & Wheble when you need a funeral director.

Helpful and kind at a sad time for us. Office not easy to get to.
Staff busy and did not transfer the ashes, so this was done at home. However, felt that they handled everything well, especially as we do not live in that area, and had never had any experience
of end of life before. They did all they could to help, and we are grateful.
