About Us

Margam Crematorium was first opened in 1969 and was the 8th to be built in Wales.Located near the Margam interchange, it is only a short drive from Port Talbot and Swansea, while remaining screened from the M4 motorway, maintaining the secluded and tranquil setting that you would expect in a place of remembrance.

The main chapel can seat up to 150 people, and is available for use by all denominations. Hymn sheets and service books are available in both English and Welsh, and the duty organist is available to play any hymn or piece of music that you wish. You can also play popular music on either CD, cassette or via the Wesley musical system, which includes a vast library of digital music.

Margam Crematorium has several lawned gardens of remembrance, as well as a woodland glade area where you can choose to strew the ashes of your loved one. The gardens are open from 9am until 5pm Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 4:30pm on Fridays, from 9am until 4pm on Saturdays, and from 11am until 4pm on Sundays.
