In loving memory of Shirley Ann Dooley who sadly passed away very suddenly. Shirley suffered a heart attack on 9th April 2022

Born in Calcutta on 16th May 1940, the middle of 3 children, Shirley was a free spirit and came to England at the tender age of 20. In no time at all she met and fell in love with Frank. Their love story began the moment they met and they were married just 18 months later.
The pair moved to the Midlands and raised two children, Alison and Gavin.

Shirley was kind and generous and understanding. She was a loving wife and mother, a favourite aunt and a great friend.

Shirley was many things. She was a beauty queen, a keen badminton and tennis player. She kept busy at the markets alongside Frank and his honey, by making jams and chutneys. There was never a dull moment.

She loved to travel, she played a good game of cards enjoyed her granddaughter, Sasha. She was devoted to her family and was always there to lend a hand or give advice when asked. She adored her great grandchildren Aliana and Birch.

Shirley was a colourful and flamboyant spirit who loved a bit a sparkle. It would be her wish that we celebrate her life with colour. For this reason we ask that everyone wears something colorful for her send off.

Shirley loved flowers and plants. They brought more colour to her life. We have created a page to donate to the British Heart Foundation or flowers are also welcome.

The funeral is at Gornal Wood Crematorium at 12:20 on Tuesday 10th May. Please join us at the Bell at Trysull

Proud to have known Shirley. A wonderful lady. When I first started farmers markets she practically took me under her wings like a daughter. I remember the first day I met her - at Worcester farmers market. I came to research if they were worth doing. I bought a lip in a small tin from her made with beeswax. Then met her again at my first market day at New Street Birmingham. Since then we became friends. I can't believe she's gone. I asked for help from her and Uncle Frank many times. Aunt Shirley gave without hesitation. Love her dearly. Always in my heart. Can't believe your gone. Rest in peace amongst the angels. Big hugs and love, Afia xXx

A light from our family is gone, a voice we love is stilled. A place is vacant in our hearts that never can be filled.

Shirley had the heart that cared completely. She had the smile that brought so much pleasure. She had the love that brought joy beyond measure.
We are missing you so much, no words to describe our grief .
Rest in peace our darling beloved cousin
