In loving memory of Irene Carr, who sadly passed away on 7th February 2022.

Irene was born in La Coruna, Spain and lived there until she emigrated to Leicester, where she met and married Peter. They raised their own family and built a happy life, while also enjoying frequent visits to Spain. After their retirement they moved back to Spain. Following Peter's death, Irene spent an increasing amount of time in England with her family, including her grand daughters and great grandchildren. Finally, she moved with them to a small Suffolk village near Ipswich last year. Throughout her life she made friends and used her many talents to help anyone she could. Whoever knew her, will feel her absence.

Therefore, her funeral is open to all who knew her - please use the attendance button to let us know if you are coming. Donations to Cancer Research are requested instead of flowers.

As Irene lived and worked in Leicester for many years, we are also having a get together there in her memory on 19 March. If this is of interest to you, please get in touch directly with us.

We know she had many friends and touched many lives. If you have any photos or memories, please share them with us.

Irene was a very lovely and generous lady whom I found a joy to be around. On the occasions we met with you all such as the West Mersea picnics Irene always had made enough food for everyone and more just in case, or the endless bacon sandwiches if I came over to help Rob in the garden. I always liked teasing her and secretly I think she always loved being teased. Wonderful lady who will be missed by all who knew her and will leave a big hole in the lives of Marianne, Lydia and Rob especially. A life well lived, active until the end. Rest in peace with Peter until we meet again. James, Michelle, Issy & Josh x

I have happy childhood memories of Irene, growing up with our neighbouring family home being close to the Carr's home. I especially recall being mesmerised watching Irene playing Ludo at lightning speed with Carmen and the time when Irene made me winner of the dancing competition at Marie-Ann's birthday party. :)

Happy memories of Irene will always live on in all of our hearts.
