With grateful thanks for the life of Kathleen Auty. She was my maths teacher and I still remember some of her lessons. She was also kind enough to give me some of her old books, years later when I was a maths teacher myself.

I met Miss Auty when I entered Skipton Girls' High School, aged 11 years. She was always very kind to me and never forgot any of her "Old Girls". May she rest in peace.

Along with many others I remember Miss Auty with great affection. She was my Form Teacher in the first year and in my final year and she never forgot any of her "Old Girls'", even years after we left school and met at the Old Girls' reunions. I also remember her as a devoted member of the congregation at St Thomas's Church and for her Christian faith. May she rest in peace.

Remembered with affection by a very poor Maths pupil 1960-67. I did finally gain Maths GCSE (by then) in my 30s when I determined that I did not want my children to also go through secondary school near the bottom of the class.
