In loving memory of Michael Reynolds who sadly passed away on 16th January 2022.

Michael James Reynolds also known as Ren was born on a hot summers day on 16th July 1976 at 53 Charles Drive, Cuxton.

He spent most of his life living in Cuxton. There was a time where Ren and his ex-girlfriend lived in a in Strood and he stopped in New Zealand for several months after Sinead and Vaughan’s wedding.

He was a great family man who loved his mum and dad, his sister Sinead and his brother Patrick. He loved his nephew Jack and his six nieces, Caitlin, Tiarni, Lucy, Sophie, Millie and Zara.

Ren was very fond of animals and he would have liked a dog. Patrick and Jo’s Labrador Simba loved Ren and there was great excitement between them when they met. Ren enjoyed taking Simba for a walks.

Ren was a caring, loving, sensitive happy go lucky person with a cheerful greeting and smile for everybody.

Unfortunately, Ren suffered from mental health issues for many years and had addictions to drink and drugs.

Ren loved motor bikes and cars. He bought a lot of cars, but sold few. After Ren had finished with a car it usually went to the breaker’s yard.
Ren and his mates used to ride their motor bikes around Cobham woods and the mausoleum. They all enjoyed the freedom of our local countryside.

He played pool for the White Hart and Pilgrims Rest pool teams and enjoyed fishing. In Ireland he had a great time fishing both from the shore and out at sea in a boat. There was great enjoyment in catching and eating pollack, mackerel and other fish. He fished the English Channel, the rivers Thames and Medway and also some of Kent’s lakes.

He loved camping and spent some great times under canvas in Folkestone, France and Spain. He liked swimming and was a qualified PADI scuba diver.

He loved his food and was a good cook and our leftovers would often disappear from the fridge. The grandkids would ask us why does Ren get the leftovers.

Ren went to Primary School in Cuxton and Holmesdale Secondary School in Snodland. After leaving school he had a number of jobs. He worked for Tesco in Strood, Knauf in Sittingbourne, Christian Salvesen in Halling. He delivered furniture for Land of Leather and he was an owner driver, delivering parcels all over Kent.

In later years Ren was a bit of an odd job man, cleaning windows, cutting grass, painting, etc. No job was too big or too small. He was involved in the construction of a swimming pool and he was able to go for a swim after work.

Messages of condolence have been received from all around the world the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland, Belgium, France, and Spain.

We have been overwhelmed by the many messages of condolences and support that we have received from family members, friends and the people of Cuxton. So many people have lost a generous, loving, caring friend. There is now an empty space in our hearts and lives which can never be filled.

Ren will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace our beautiful boy.

Whenever we visited Norah and Tony and spent time with Sinead when she was visiting, Ren would always show us a warm welcome too and stop for a chat and that is how we will remember him. As my best friends older brother you were a big influence on my life. From keeping me and Pat inline as kids (even when we didn't deserve it) to getting me into motocross. You'll be missed deeply, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Michael
