My wedding day was the last time I actually got to see Aunt Nora but my two boys got to see her for a couple of special birthdays which meant the word to me that she got to meet them. I have so many fond memories.

Auntie Nora too many memories to list but thank you for all the love and support you gave us all over the years. Sunday afternoon teas when you came to Stevenage Winkles and chocolate cake especially the M&S chocolate tea cakes and cuddles and now I can say it the kisses 😂 and the only person to call me Steven. Rest in peace love from all of us.

  • Dear Steve. Yes tea with you all in Stevenage was always a lovely occasion with both mum and Aunty Lily bringing lots of goodies! But it’s the cakes everyone remembers!

  • Yes Andrew, holidays in Devon were always enjoyable. Mum and Aunty Lily always going to the shops every morning to get the rolls and cakes for lunch. And dancing at the Tembani in the evenings.

In memory of a lovely Aunt and her long and well lived life. There are many memories over those years from individual family visits to extended family gatherings. Two of my own fondest memories are of Sunday tea as a child at Ilderton Road. It was always such a treat, especially the chocolate tea cakes and, more recently, of sharing your 100th birthday celebrations.

You will be missed. Rest in peace.

And in more recent times it was always lovely to see and chat with her at your various family celebrations. She was a wonderful lady who brought happiness and laughter - and what an amazing age too! We know you have so many happy memories to bring you comfort at this time.

Special Sunday Visits. My Auntie Norah's visits and involvement in my childhood were very special. The lovely cakes, the new clothes and her special way of caring and looking out for me will always be remembered and appreciated. A lady in a million.

  • Thank you for posting a picture Marian. I remember that dress mum is wearing. It was a dark green brocade type of material. Quite posh for a family afternoon tea! Thank you also for sharing your memories of mum. x

I’ve lit two candles for you mum. The pink one(the nearest colour to red), for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and the second for Our Lady, who I’ve no doubt have been watching over you all the years of your life. You were a very special lady, not only to us your family, but also to every one who knew you. Rest in peace. xx

We are so sorry to hear the passing of Auntie Nora, I have lots of fond memories of her when we used to live in Hornshay Street. I would see Auntie Nora, most days either coming or going to school, playing in the garden, she always had a smile and always stopped to chat to me. Rest in peace Auntie, love Janice.xxxx
