It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kelvin George Collins. He was born February 28 1938 in Rochester, Kent to Harold And Evelyn Collins (née Lindsey).

He had a carefree and happy childhood despite the war and his father being away for most of the time. A sister Joy (Martin Fisher) joined the family after the war ended. He married Janet Doherty in 1958 and settled down to raise a family. He served in the National service. After which he apprenticed to HMS Chatham Dockyard as a Shipwright, and left when it was closed down. He then joined the Southern Water Board and retired from there in the late nineties. Following official retirement, he spent time with his son, helping out with his business.

Kelvin was an avid sports fan and player. He played football in his youth, for various local teams, and then took up golf. His handicap being a very respectable 16. He loved cricket and was very knowledgeable on horse racing.

He has travelled to many countries during his lifetime including Greece, Spain, France, Africa, the Middle East, and spent much time with his daughters in America and India.

He is survived by his wife Janet Christine Collins (née Doherty) his sister Joy (Martin Fisher), children Melanie (Anoop) Venetia (Russell) and Grahame (Lisa), his grandchildren Rhiannon (Sam), Nathan (Lauren), Ciaran (Rachel), Katherine (Frank), Jessica (Terence), Nikhil and Arjun. Ella-May, Sadie. Great grandchildren Myles, George, Cassius, Ian, Evelyn and Jasper.
