In loving memory of Mathew Hills who sadly passed away on 29th July 2015.

Matt was a loving son, big brother, partner and uncle.

He was a massive Mummy's boy, who made our parents very proud, he was amazing at everything he ever turned his hand to, which made me a little bit jealous as a little sister.

Matt trained as a nurse and qualified with a first class degree in adult nursing, he worked really hard to achieve this and soon after graduating he moved to Cambridge for work. Whilst in Cambridge he met a beautiful young lady, Sophie, who has been a very important part of his life ever since and she has become a part of our family too.

I hold very precious memories of us as children and teens, trips away and holidays with our parents and grandparents.

The charities we have chosen to support are the Poole Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Matt's nieces spent the first month of their lives on the unit as they were born 11 weeks early and the care they received was fantastic. It is also where Matt met the girls when they were less than 24 hours old and Dorset Mind who help raise awareness about and provide support for people mental health conditions.

My memories of my dear nephew Matt. There are so many, but I guess one of my fondest memories was going on holiday with him, Simon and Julie and sister Tash to Lanzarote. A great holiday where Matt and Tash both fully enjoyed kids club, and the beach. Mathew covering himself in the black sand and burying Tash up to her neck. Face paints of batman and learning to drink a long drink and honing his diving skills. Great times.

My Beautiful Son

My son you will ever be
While you sit on grandad franks knee
Look down and you will see
Your family and friends smiling back at thee
A love so strong we hold for you
Our thoughts never far from view
Will ever reach out to you
Your manner your heart so pure and true
I will not say goodbye to you
As we walked along together
I wished that we could talk
About the thoughts you were thinking
About your future that shone so bright
I know that you will stay forever young
You will always be by my side
My beautiful son.

Matt, our grandparents and I went to America in 2003, we arrived in the early hours of Matt's 15th birthday, we stayed with NanGrandad's God daughter, it was an amazing holiday, we both got to drive a boat, obviously Matt's natural talent made him amazing at it within 5 minutes! He also went fishing on the lake for a day and beat me a lot at air hockey!! With the exception of the day he went fishing we spent almost the whole time together, shopping, fighting and eating posh food! This is one of the most memorable holidays we had together and I will cherish this and all of the good times forever!
