My most fond memories of Jon were when we were growing up as children.

My brother Paul, Jon, Andrew, Caroline, and I used to play hide and seek in the many rooms and corridors, or we'd run about and play games in the garden outside the big country house where the Sidell family lived for some years. I shall never forget the epic Christmas song and dance shows we all performed to entertain the family over many festive seasons.

I will always have this image of Jon as an energetic and athletic youth with sparkling eyes, a big grin and a mop of golden curls from his teenage days.

The news of his ongoing battle and passing saddens me deeply, but I take comfort in knowing that he is peaceful now.

I am unable to attend the funeral in person, but I plan to watch it live via the link.

We fondly remember Jon as a lively and happy boy.

We have many wonderful memories of him in his younger years, especially at Christmas times spent together with the family.

We are very saddened by his passing, but in grieving his loss, we find solace in the knowledge that after such a long and difficult battle, he is finally at peace.

We are unable to attend the funeral, but will be very much present in thought.
