In loving memory of Bill (William) Frederick Letts who sadly passed away on 23rd August 2021. Dad (Bill) was born in Coventry Road, South Norwood and had one sister called Sylvie and a brother called Vick (Victor). He met and married our Mum Mandy. Dad had several jobs as a young man which, in the last few months, he talked about quite a bit and would list them out. He ran through them all until he ultimately he ended up as a Bus Driver which he did for over 20 years before he retired. Dad was a loving, caring and supportive man. He was not openly emotional but you knew he cared. Very sadly Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in June this year. He tried his best to battle it and very sadly Dad passed away a lot earlier than any of us were expecting. He has left behind a family who is going to miss him terribly and also a partner called Carol, who I know has been left empty following his passing. Please remember Bill, our Dad, with the fondest of memories, his extremely stubborn ways at times and the love he had for his garden and everything he grew in it. Dad you have left a hole in our hearts but we know you are no longer in pain and that hopefully you are partying up there with Uncle Terry, Ray Ford and having cups of tea with Uncle Vick. We love you, Rest in Peace our Angel. xx

Thinking of you Bill and your loving family, still cant believe this has all happened, you gave it your all. You was determind to try and eat when you didnt want too and fight the pain with medication when your body didnt want too, i asked you if you was being a good patient, and you said you was trying, and you did try, untill you had enough which everyone understands and with that is broken hearts💔 im so gratefull to of spent some time with you recently, we laughed and cryed together and had the best chat, and you even told me how to make your scrambled eggs,(no pressure then😆)i was a nervous wreck hoping i got it right, they were the best iv ever made, and you eat it all👍so im never making them any other way from now on.. so i want to say thank you, not just for the eggs ha ha, for everything, i was spose to be helping you when infact you helped me, I will Always think of you and smile and have a giggle, you were such a great character, never held back on what you thought🤦‍♀️🤣 what you saw is what you got, the best way to be, we all loved you for that. Lotss of love to you, and will be so so missed, its been a pleasure to be part of your family and always will be.. wow, iv talked way to much.. lots and lots of love❤❤ Tess and family xxxxxx

  • We were Bill's in-law family for many years and knew and saw him a lot when his and Mandy's children were young. I met him when he was a very handsome teenager and it was lovely to welcome him into our family. He saved my son Richard from a fire when Richard was a baby. We saw him regularly when they lived in Upper Norwood but then they moved away and it was only me that saw them on a regular basis - nearly every Saturday evening to watch TV and go down the road and get fish and chips. He was mostly full of fun and Mike particularly remembers him from when Nan Jefferyes used to take him to their home to see you all. He remembers Bill laughing and joking - I remember him that way too. Hopefully he is now laughing and joking with Terry again.
