Geoff you were like a father to me, I could always rely on your sage advice and you fuelled my passion for the sea. When you took me on my first sail on the Magic Dragon I was hooked. I think you might have regretted this later, when I brought home my first dinghy, you found it was full of rot and you said it was a wreck after you looked. We spent a lot of time, digging out the rot, cutting new panels snd after holding it together with fiberglass it turned out fine.
You had got me on my way and I learned how to sail. Doing up that boat made me realize that in any practical challenge you would never fail. Replacing the Magicians transom, fixing mum's washing machine and repairing your Mini's radiator, with matchsticks and araldite. I shared your other big passion apart from sailing and spent many hours in awe as I watched you tinker meticulously with your Vincent motor bike. We sailed together, I crewed for you in the osprey nationals in mount's bay. It was always special to spend time with you like when you took on the Fastnet and round Ireland races. You really were a second father to me, what more can I say
