Happy memories of the course at Hamble run by David for a bunch of BA Training Captains. Years later David was a great supporter of the 'Guild' Pilot Aptitude Scheme at Cranwell. Finally what a worthy charity to support.

David , a chance meeting on that cruise gave us the opportunity to look back and remember the happy times at Hamble at the very start of my flying career which you helped to create. Thank you, Rob Cawthorne.

As our Flight Manager at The College of Air Training, Hamble, you firstly instructed us, then examined us, then finally congratulated us. Thank you David. And what an unexpected pleasure it was to catch up with you again after over 40 years.

  • One of the many wonderful photo’s in Antigua with our great friends - Shirley & David with dear Terry & Jimmy - on this day there were many of us having the time of our lives on the Catamaran ‘Caribbean Seas’ - this was a truly memorable day for us all as we always had so much fun with you dear David & Shirley. The many times we met for lunch, exploring the islands, a day out on Dozy Girl & the usual gang often included - our dearest departed best girl friends - Terry & Maureen & visiting with Terry from Australia - Joan & Jimmy. In all the world I will never forget David - with his twinkling eyes, his great sense of humour & immense kindnesses. The many wonderful years of friendship with David & Shirley, spending time with them at Selsey Bill, week-ends at our home in Bembridge & exploring the Isle of Wight & in the earlier years visiting them from our Antiguan flight home to their lovely home at High Wycombe. With our heartfelt Sympathy for the loss of our great friend - David & our love 💖 for you Shirley on this terribly sad occasion. With all our love 💖 & strength over these next few weeks for you Shirley & dear Bella? Here’s to keeping in touch dear Shirley. With Love, Jenny, Tony & our girl Wings xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Both Joan & I had the pleasure of meeting David &Shirley in Antigua with our good friend Terry. We were then lucky enough to catch up again in Bali some years later. What a fascinating man David was we could sit & listen to his stories of aviation & his life in general or hours. He will be sadly missed by all.
