Recently found out sad news , I had known John at school and was ever thankful that he took an apprenticeship at the ici paint factory which gave me the opportunity as the second applicant to gain my apprenticeship at e rand & sons wetherden . A very clever guy at school and only seems like yesterday but of course some 39 years ago . My condolences to his family & olive whom I used to see at Stanton .
