Rest in peace and rise in glory, Mother Sheila. Easter time always brings me great memories of you putting on the Passion Plays for the children at church. We miss you dearly.

Some lovely memories come to mind.
We will never forget Sheila turning up at our Mums bed when she was hospitalised, she brought with her a wonderful smile and a warm and comfortable presence.

Mother Sheila radiated love and kindness. When I was a deputy warden at St Peter's she always noted when someone came in with needs, or troubles, and would say to me 'they're one of my people, I'll look after them'. I will never forget that. Rest in Peace Sheila, you will be much missed. We will let you go as you ask, and share the love you shared with others as you would wish us too. Thank you xxx

Mother Sheila was a great priest, friend, and neighbour to so many people over the years here at St Peter's and way beyond. She gave selflessly to God's work in church, parish, St Peter's School, her hospital ministry and the wider community. She never minced her words, and really called a spade a spade! She has held individuals and families at the most difficult times of tragedy and loss, as well as helping people to celebrate God's great joys at special times in life. There have been so many messages of condolence and fond memories of Sheila from the congregation and church family at St Peter's, really showing the impact she had in her ministry. May Sheila rest in perfect peace and rise in glory: a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Amen.

I was glad to be alongside Sheila as she prepared for ordination and then became a priest. It was always good to work with her. I really appreciated her gift of spotting people with particular needs or people who felt on the edge, and bringing them in. I'm grateful for everything she taught me. Thanks Sheila!

  • Mother Sheila was an inspiration to must of us who worshiped at St. Peter’s Church Walworth when she was there as a clergy team. We miss you and will always be remembered. Sleep and take your rest. Good bye. It is well. Muzar & Donald.
