Lovely memories of Colin and Renie and the folk scene around Taunton.

Colin & Rene were the most beautiful people and were friends of Paul, myself and my family for many years. I introduced them to each other when he came to meet us to listen to Rene sing at the Fitzhead Inn, if I remember the venue correctly! We used to meet all over for the wonderful singing, also at our homes. Harvey, I am sure you will remember us from the Martlet nights of song! We are so sad and send you, your brother, Rene and all the family our thoughts and prayers.

Many happy memories of times spent singing in the Middle bar with Colin and Rene over many, many years. We will miss you Colin but rest easy now as we sing your farewell.

Such a wonderful father, father in law and grandfather. Always full of warmth and laughter and a welcoming smile. Colin - you will be so missed but we shall feel forever blessed that we had you in our lives. Love always ❤ xxx

Depuis presque 50 ans Colin tu as fait parti de ma vie et nous sommes ta Famille de France.
Ta sagesse, ton écoute, ton humanisme, ta tolérance et ta grande bonté m’ont toujours accompagnée depuis mes 16 ans.
Tu resteras toujours dans mon cœur et celui de Patrick
Nous pensons très fort à Rene que tu adorais et à tes enfants.

We shall treasure all memories of Colin especially those where he took centre stage with Renee for so many years at Eli's Singarounds. We won't hear "The Galway Shawl" again without thinking of his beautiful singing and warm personality.

Colin and Renee have always been an absolute highlight for me of the Middle Bar. I will always think of them as my folk grandparents. They have always been so warm and kind. I can picture Colin gazing at Renee with a twinkle in his eye and them both singing Barnacle Bill. Thinking of his family and Renee. My thoughts are with you. Colin will be much missed. X
