I knew Harold when he played at Headingley. I found this photo recently, I thought Harold’s family might like to see it. Taken at the Kirkstall playing second row for Headingley Wanderers. He was a pleasure to know and play with. Sincere condolences.

We only knew Harold a short time and in a professional capacity when he showed us round our house which he was involved with the building of. In that short time he made such a big impression. Nothing was too much trouble - from lying on the floor holding up tiles to help us choose, helping us to pick flooring and sorting any snags. He did all of this with the biggest smile and always made us laugh. Just before Christmas I called about the house and he ended up telling me stories of how he met princess diana, Geri Halliwell asking him out and talking about how excited he was for us to move in and hoped we would have wonderful neighbours like his in barlborough. He told me about how kind they were and looked out for each other. He told me about his son and how proud he was. He was just wonderful and we are so shocked and deeply saddened by his passing. Moving in day didn’t feel right without him here. We hope to plant a tree in his memory on the plot.
Sending our deepest sympathies to his family.
He was the most wonderful man.

I last spoke to Harold just after Christmas. I’m still struggling to accept that he’s gone. Hugo, I’m so sorry for what you have been through and are going through. If you need anything I’m only a phone call, a text or an email away. To Errols family I’m so sorry and my heart goes out to all of you. Kim and Stephen x
