A quietly spoken man with a twinkle in his eyes and a big heart. He adored his family especially the grand children. Alan quickly became the centre of our extended family and I will miss hearing the stories of his life. Apart from all of the time we spent with him, Angela and I will treasure the memory was our lunch with Alan during a visit to the UK. A special moment for a special man.
