Linda MarySt Elizabeth Hospice (Suffolk)
In loving memory of Linda Mary Steward (nee Sadler) who sadly passed away on 8th February 2021, aged 69 years.
Born in July, 1951, as the youngest of four children, Linda attended Westbourne Secondary Modern in Ipswich. She became a shorthand typist after leaving school aged 15.
She met John, in 1969 at Cliff Quay Power Station in Ipswich where they both worked. They married in 1973, had two children - Paul (born June 1978) and Michael (Born October 1980) - and would go on to spend 47-and-a-half extremely happy years together.
Linda was a keen Ipswich Town fan, even before she met John, going regularly with her aunt Maudy to see the Blues in the Bill McGarry era.
Running was a passion of Linda's and she and John were both heavily involved in the Stowmarket Striders Running Club. She completed the London Marathon in 1990 and took part in many road races across the county during the years.
Linda worked at the ICI Paints factory in Stowmarket, and on the tills at Tesco in the town. She latterly became a full-time nanny to friend Kirsty's two children - Leah and Jacob.
She was a devoted nanny to four grandchildren - Alice, Thomas, Elizabeth and Heather - and loved spending time with family and friends.
Linda was diagnosed with a brain tumour in June 2020 and died on Monday, February 8 at St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
