Yesterday we cleared out your flat. It was so hard to let go of the pieces of your life (so so many of them) but there were gems to be treasured & we are grateful for those. Can't wait to explore all the music. Love you lots xxx

It still feels unreal in these surreal times. Today we said our last goodbye & it was the hardest thing to do. Despite the restrictions, there was a lot of love & light in such dark times. Miss you bro, love always Sis xxx

  • Agreed Sis. I meant to say at the service today though how thankful I am for the extra time I spent with Stuart in the last couple of years, how much closer I feel we have become because of it and to get to know Gemma so much better xxx

STUART. Remembering always the good times when you were very young, growing up with all the friends in Mulbarton. Watching you all having fun together. These memories will always be with us ,in particular one night when i was working late about 2am in the morning in our garage had left the door slightly ajar when i noticed two little feet under the door ,thought to myself what the !!!!!!! next thing Stuart puts his head round the door and says i have just come to see what you are doing ITS TWO AM !! I take him across the road knock on the door to tell Alision i have brought your son home .Shocked cannot describe the look on Alisions face. But thats Stuart for you!!!

Stuart, I really don't know where to begin. There is so much I want to say but a lot of it should remain unspoken.
From the first time you came round with a couple of mutual friends and were introduced as "Ipswich's very own Roy Castle" due to the multitude of instruments you mastered. This led indirectly to a Spy Real Fire guerilla gig in the camp site at one of the later Rougham fayres where we made a 30 minute set last for about 2 hours.
As the easiest going lodger I have ever had it seemed like a no brainer to leave the somewhat sordid flat in your hands.
As a dog sitter when I went to Praha with a recently met new girlfriend (who I met via your good self, 26 years married now, no words can express my gratitude for that) and my dog bit you on the bum when you were having a barney with Jo.
As a song writer and teasing tunes from you and getting them recorded, however bad my playing was. The only titles I remember are "Complete and Utter Nutter" and "Stop making me hate you". What I wouldn't give to hear or play them with you again.
As a drummer when you gave EMF a well needed lift and the sterling work at gigs and recording in Trowse.
But mainly as a friend, with who it didn't matter how long had passed without seeing each other. We just picked up where we left off.
Farewell 'til we meet again.
