In loving memory of an amazing man Derek Pickering, who sadly passed away on 5th January 2021.
Derek was a loving man who always enjoyed having his family around him. He enjoyed train journeys, holidays, gardening and socialising with old friends.
Derek started working life on a farm and has since had several other occupations including delivery driver for Halls furnishes of Shirebrook, Train guard at Shirebrook railway, banks man at Welbeck colliery and delivery driver for the Chad. His interests included; steam trains and gardening.
Derek was a gentleman, a kind and loving person.
He was a fantastic husband, dad , grandad and adored by all his family.
He will be sadly missed by all.

Only met you once. But once seen never forgot. Obviously you were a great man and loved by them around you. You need to know you created a great man in your son Glyn. He protected me at a time when I thought I could protect myself. That in itself proves what a great Dad you were. Rest easy mr Pickering. Now is your time to take it easy. Gone but not forgotten.
