My memory of Joan was taking her to Musical Memories with my mum Ursula, down in Devon, when she and Sue were on holiday. "Oh I can't sing", said Joan, apparently she had been told off in church by a lady for singing out of tune. Musical Memories is not about the singing its about having fun. Well we did that afternoon, roaring with laughter, banging the old tambourine, eating too many cakes.........and just letting go. That evening Joan came up to me and said "Thank you for helping me find my voice again". I will never forget that.

Dearest Nana,
Gentle, kind and an all-round wonderful soul, with whom we have shared many happy memories together. A most devoted mother, grand mother and great grand mother. Your presence will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.
Until we meet again.
All my love.

A lovely and fun lady who was much loved by Brenda and David. Finding friendship with Joan and Don certainly and mutually enriched their retirement years.
Rest in peace Joan.

Those we love don't go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
So love, so missed, so very dear.
