It is with great sadness that the family of Bert Hill announces his sudden passing, on Saturday 5th December 2020, at the age of 87.

Bert passed away peacefully at his home in Orpington and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Doreen, his three children, Sharon, Lisa & Stephen, six grandchildren, Clare, Lauren, Adam, Georgia, Chloe & Harrison & three great grandchildren Tom, Nola & his namesake Herbie.

Bert worked as a lithographic plate maker until his retirement. He was sports mad & enjoyed playing golf & watching his grandsons & great grandson play football, come rain or shine. During his time in the army he was Army boxing champion & had a real passion for boxing.

He was never happier than when all his family were together with him, dancing, drinking & regaling them with his tall tales.

He will leave an enormous void in so many lives. He had lots of lifelong friends. He was the life and soul of the party and would do anything for anyone. A TRUE LEGEND

The funeral service will be held at the Bluebell Cemetery ( Cremation), Old London Road Halstead TN14 7AE 11.15am on Monday 11th Jan 2021. Due to current Covid restrictions only 30 people may attend. A live video stream will be available. Please email Sharon with your details if you would like the video link. shriggers@ic24.net Family flowers only. Please make any charitable donations to Macmillan Nurses or Cancer Research, links for these are on this page

Many thanks
Doreen, Sharon, Lisa & Stephen

I’m going to miss our weekly chats and banter. It was the highlight of my week.
Don’t worry I’ll continue to laugh, nag and boss Doreen around without you.
Rest in peace. You will always be in our hearts and memories.
Much love
Helen xx
