In loving memory of David John Hawes who sadly passed away on 14th December 2020.

David was a lively and fun character with a wickedly dry sense of humour. He was very well respected by all and very much loved by his family. A true innovator, David was responsible for developing soft drink products such as J2O, Fruit Shoot and R.Whites to name but a few, but he was always very coy about his achievements despite the legacy he leaves behind. He was a real expert in his field and considered the wizard of liquid development.

David had a passion for many things including golf, flying, his dogs Bailie and Charlie, and wife Denise. He had a love of good food which was often accompanied with a beer, or a glass of good wine. He was also a great cook!

Sadly, David was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer in November 2018, and despite Chemotherapy and other Cancer treatments, he finally succumbed to this insidious disease at the tender age of 60.

Whilst there are probably many who touched David’s life that would have liked to have paid their last respects, unfortunately during this time of Covid-19 restrictions the funeral service is private. However, should you wish to make a donation to Prostate Cancer Research in memory of David please do so, because regardless of how big or small it is, every bit will help fund further research for treatments to help men like David, that have been diagnosed with this disease.

God Bless you David.
You are very much loved.
You have left a gaping whole in my heart.
Your loving wifey Denise xxx

Such a talent, full of compassion and patience, always seeing and bringing out the best in others. We worked together for many years and also shared a few crazy social trips! You always provided stability and sound counsel whenever needed, and probably never really fully appreciated the impact you had on so many people.

David you will be sorely missed.

Gone far too soon; my thoughts, in particular, are with Denise and your family who I know you cherished with all your heart. Rest In Peace

I owe Dave a huge amount. We worked together on the launch of Upbeat drinks where he patiently taught me a lot of what I now know about soft drinks - and always with a wicked smile, sense of humour and a big heart. Sending my love to his family. A wonderful cause in his memory.

A legend and wizard in soft drink development. A college and friend for over 20 years. I will miss you as I'm sure so many others will as well. Thank you for all my memories of our times together, they will bring me smiles for many a year to come.
