Roger Gregory Messenger (17 May 1958 - 16 Nov 2020)

So saddened to hear about Roger - I worked with him on rating issues and he was one of the Consultants I looked forward to meeting up with. Always a smile, always jovial - just wish circumstances could have allowed us to get to know each other more. Thinking of you , Lynne - in the hope you have a lifetime of happy memories to carry you through.

I joined Wilks Head in 2000 and stayed with the firm for 14 years.
Roger was certainly a character and one which I very quickly grew to admire and respect, his professionalism, knowledge and approach very much shaped my personal approach to business within the property sector for which I will always be grateful.
Roger had many interests beyond his professional life and will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him and my condolences go out to Lynne and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Roger as his P.A. for several years and knew him well. He really was a lovely man and was very highly thought of by us all at Wilks Head & Eve. He had infinite wisdom and knowledge about everything and I will very much miss his guidance and having such a great boss. My very kindest and warmest wishes are with Lynne and his family.

Roger and I started playing music together in the school band and then in the Beckenham Concert Band, founded by Roger's dad, Ken Messenger. Early memories of sitting with Lynne in the early days on clarinet and everyone tuning to the trombones as Roger was most likely to be the one in tune! Fine musician and first-class individual.

May his soul rest with our almighty God in peace.

I am blessed to have known and worked with Roger the last 6 years. A true professional, hard working, representative of the industry and able to bring all members together. He was an inspirational speaker at our conferences and always had a smile on his face when he greeted you. Roger made the world a better place while here. God Bless!

Dear Roger, taken from us much too soon will always be remembered as a dear friend; alway generous with his time and wise council. Over the many years that I have known Roger we have shared many wonderful social occasions and created so many special memories. Our mutual musical interests have been particularly memorable with Roger leading the band of course. Roger touched so many lives and we’ll all remember him with the greatest affection. Cheers Roger, here’s to you mate.

A best friend gone too soon is a tragedy but what would have been worse is never to have met him.I am grateful to have been a friend of Roger’s and my life was enriched through this friendship. So many happy memories .He was funny, generous of spirit , a man who truly loved life and was held in high esteem and affection but all who knew him.

Roger was my husband's school friend of 50+ years, the best man at our wedding and one of our dearest and oldest friends. He had the best anecdotes and, with his quirky sense of humour, was always fun and entertaining. He was also an exceptionally kind and generous friend who we will miss beyond measure ❤.

Roger was one of my best friends and he will be sadly missed by us all.
We had known each other since around 1974 through music and playing in bands.
We will miss his wit, his tireless enthusiasm for everything he did and his kindness and generosity.
